rclone-sync Privacy Policy
Last updated: 20 September 2026
rclone-sync is a personal, single-user tool. It is used only by its owner, Hein Htet Nyan, to keep the owner's own files backed up and in sync between the owner's computers and the owner's own Google Drive using the open-source program rclone. It is not offered to the public and has no other users.
What access it requests
When the owner signs in, the app asks for permission to view and manage files in the owner's own Google Drive. This is needed so the sync program can read, create, update and delete the files it synchronizes.
What data is collected
The developer does not collect, receive, store, or have any access to your Google account data. The app has no servers and no analytics. The sign-in token that Google issues is stored only on the owner's own computers, in rclone's local configuration file.
How data is used and shared
Files are transferred directly between the owner's computers and the owner's Google Drive. Nothing is sent to any third party, sold, or used for advertising. Google user data is not used to develop, improve or train any machine-learning model.
Retention and deletion
The synchronized files live in the owner's Google Drive and on the owner's computers, and are deleted by the owner at any time. Access can be revoked at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions, after which the app can no longer reach the account.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
